(Luka 9: 7-9)
Shing rai byin ai lam yawng hpe Herod munggyi
na la nna, myit ung ang nga ai: kaning rai nme law, nkau mi gaw, Yawhan si ai
kaw na bai hkrung rawt wa sai; nkau mi gaw, Elia paw pru ra ai; bai kaga ni
mung, Shawng na myihtoi langai ngai bai rawt sai, nga nna tsun shajang ma ai. Herod
mahtang gaw, Yawhan hpe ngai baw htau kau se ai; rai timung, ndai hte wa ngai
na ai gaw, kadai wa rai ta? nga nna, Yesu hpe mu yu na tam nga ai.

Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was
happening, and he was greatly perplexed because some were saying, "John has
been raised from the dead"; others were saying, "Elijah has
appeared"; still others, "One of the ancient prophets has
arisen." But Herod said, "John I beheaded. Who then is this about
whom I hear such things?" And he kept trying to see him.
